This patch is applicable to versions 6.3.0 and 1.0.1 of this TDK. For information on installing this patch, see the installation note. For the most up-to-date version of these release notes, log into your myQNX account, and then go to the Download Center area of www.qnx.com. You should also install the TCP/IP Daemon Security Patch (Patch ID 43) for QNX Momentics 6.3.0 (it's included in QNX Momentics 6.3.0 Service Pack 2).

What's in this patch?

This patch contains security updates to snmpd. The following files are installed under $QNX_TARGET, under the subdirectories for each supported target platform:

  • mipsbe/usr/sbin/snmpd
• MIPSLE:
  • mipsle/usr/sbin/snmpd
• PPCBE:
  • ppcbe/usr/sbin/snmpd
• SHLE:
  • shle/usr/sbin/snmpd
• x86:
  • x86/usr/sbin/snmpd

Fixed issues

This patch addresses the following:

• The snmpd daemon formerly could fault due to an uninitialized structure that could have caused snmpd to access an invalid pointer during a request. This has been fixed. (Ref# 21965)
